I thought we would start with Membergain first. Not to be confused with Consumergain, an awesome old school DIY network! But this is some sort of scammy company that called me from (754) 345-3962 and left me the following message:
"You're receiving this call because you've been selected for a one hundred dollar discount to use at gas stations and supermarkets in your area. To activate it, you just need to verify your eligibility by calling 754-345-3962 within the next 24 hours. The verification is simple and will only take a minute. Talk to you soon."
I Googled the number and found this site with reviews: https://www.scam-detector.com/validator/membersgain-com-review/

Received a voicemail from 1-903-290-5023 telling me to call 1-754-345-3962 to get my $100 reward for gas, groceries, etc. Male Representative said he needed to verify my name, dob, address, & phone. Then said they\'d mail me information about my now $300 reward so I needed to provide my bank info. I asked for the name of the company and was told it was reward gains. Again asked for my account info and said something about processing a digital check. I think he mentioned $0.46 for mailing. They hung up. Encourage anyone not to interact with this company, it\'s really sketchy.

I received a post card with FINAL NOTICE. It also said: WARNING Failure to call will result in an AUTOMATIC FORFEITURE OF THIS REWARD. I figured it was a scam but I called and the first thing the lady with an Asian accent, asked for my bank name, routing and account number. I kept asking her how did she get my name, she kept talking over me telling me how safe her company was.I told her to I would like to forfeit my Reward. She hung up on me. She got my bank name but thats all she got.
I also received a postcard earlier in the year like the last person did. However, the phone number on it points to a Chinese website. I don't think these companies are the same, but this is what my postcard looks like:

All this reminds me of that company called Big Family Discounts that I blogged about in 2021: https://wozniack.blogspot.com/2021/10/bountiful-harvest-blog-with-rewardzone.html.
They told me I was getting a $250.00 gift card, but it turned out to be a monthly membership for discounted purchases. After investigating their website, you could actually find those discounts on your own by Googling, or simply downloading a shopping app extension, and having that app find you promo codes. I think I will pass on these kind of offers, as they seem rather sketchy to begin with. I also don't feel comrtoable dealing with them.
The website connected to the (754) 345-3962 number is membergain.com if anyone wants to check them out. I personally do not recommend them, but there it is if you want to see it.
The last DealZingo site I did was in December 2024. I sent off my paperwork that month with delivery confirmation. My USPS tracking number showed DealZingo received my paperwork on January 4, 2025. After two weeks went by, I decided to give DealZingo a nudge and send them the following letter.

Section I:
Limit of one (1) Reward per household. Void where prohibited. COMPLETING A SURVEY AND/OR VIEWING THE OFFERS WITHOUT COMPLETING THE REQUISITE NUMBER OF REWARD PROGRAM OFFERS FROM THE SPECIFIED CATEGORIES ABOVE DOES NOT QUALIFY YOU FOR A REWARD.
Section II:
Please note that only one (1) Account is allowed per household, and any Accounts that share either: the same name, e-mail address, mailing (postal) address, telephone number, credit card or IP address will be considered the same household. Accounts in violation of this rule will be placed on hold or disqualified. For the avoidance of doubt, you may not have multiple Accounts at more than one (1) mailing (postal) address, under more than one (1) name, or under more than one (1) e-mail address. Furthermore, you may not use another individual's name or information at any time, for any reason on the Website. By way of example, you may not register on the Website for any other individual or attempt to complete offers for any other individual's Account.
Section III:
Please note that the Reward Program is limited to one (1) Reward and registration per household; and each household is limited to the use of one (1) e-mail address. For the avoidance of doubt, each household must use the same e-mail address throughout all websites that are owned and/or operated by Company.
Please be advised that you or your household may qualify for and receive a maximum of one (1) Reward from Company and it's Partners.
Since this was the third time DealZingo accused me of violating some rule to eschew payment, I fired back with a screenshot showing the Limit of 1 reward per household, per calendar year. That rule was still in place on the front of the gift site I had completed. They had no where to go with it, it was right there on their front page. They weren't slick enough to pull that one on me regardless of this new rule they had put in place. As far as I was concerned, it did not apply to me.

Hi Brian,
If you look at the gift site I completed it says, "Limit of 1 reward per household, per calendar year."
I take that to mean that I could complete one of your company's sites once per year annually, not once per lifetime.
I have attached the screen shot of the site I did. At the bottom of the page it states, "Limit of 1 reward per household, per calendar year."
Thanks,
Me

Also, I'd like to add that the site I did by your company in December 2023 had the same, " Limit of 1 reward per household, per calendar year" rule on the front page.
So, I was thinking it was fine to do another site by your company since the front of your gift sites state you can do a site once per calendar year.
If that is not the case, that is very misleading to have that on the front of your web sites. It's almost like a bait and switch.
Sincerely,
Me
I took a few hours to cool off before I sent another one. What bugged me about this was every single time I waited for my reward, rather than just pay me, I was told I had violated some rule that I know I hadn't. Very frustrating to hear after weeks and weeks of waiting. It's like I had to prepare for battle the second and third time, as I knew they'd probably do it again, and sure enough, I was right.

To Whom It May Concern,
I am formally demanding payment of the $1,000 reward that I rightfully earned by completing your promotional offer in full compliance with the terms advertised on your website.
Your front page explicitly states: "Limit of 1 reward per household, per calendar year." This wording clearly implies that a household is eligible to receive one reward per year—not a lifetime limit. Based on this, I completed another site in 2024, having previously completed one in December 2023, fully believing I was following the stated terms.
I understand that your Terms and Conditions page contains different language about a supposed lifetime limit on rewards. However, this contradicts what is prominently advertised on the front page. If your company does not intend to honor the "per calendar year" rule stated on your website, then this is false advertising and a deceptive business practice—potentially a violation of New York state consumer protection laws.
I have attached a screenshot of the site showing the "per calendar year" language, which was a key factor in my decision to complete the offer. If your company refuses to issue my earned reward, I will be filing a formal complaint with the New York Attorney General’s Office for false advertising and deceptive trade practices. I am also prepared to explore further legal action if necessary.
Please process my $1,000 reward payment within seven days or provide a written explanation for your refusal. If I do not receive payment or a satisfactory response, I will escalate this matter accordingly.
Sincerely,
Me

After that, I received my $1,000.00 reward just two days later. Only once before has a DIY network ever wired $1,000.00 straight into my checking account. An electronic ACH transfer is something RewardZone USA used to do years ago, but this one felt a little different because I sent my information by e-mail rather than filling out an online form like I did with RewardZone USA.
I revisited the DealZingo gift site I completed last year, and now the front page reads, “Limit of 1 reward per household, per lifetime.” DealZingo didn’t use the “per lifetime” phrasing in the message they sent me about their new rule — I’m pretty sure they borrowed that wording from me, lol.
Here's a screenshot of my checking account, which shows my final DealZingo payment from Flex Marketing Group:
View post on imgur.comIn a way, it’s sad to see how these sites seem to be dwindling. DealZingo used to be the place to go, if you know what I mean. I’d like to think that most DIYfreebies.com readers have completed at least one DealZingo offer at some point. If that’s true, then it means most of us can’t use them anymore. And now RewardZone USA is becoming a major headache for anyone still trying to work through those offers. Let me share my recent experience, along with some new information I’ve uncovered.
After only receiving a $100.00 payout from RewardZone USA the year before, I was timid to say the least. But, I was willing to try it again to see if that annoying prozy/VPN issue resurfaced, and to see how well their offers credited. Right off, my first offer, Funmobi, did not credit. So, I skipped to the next level, knowing I could go back and complete Level 1 at any time. On Level 2, Card Match and Been Verified did not credit. So, I elated when Reverse Phone Catfish did. I advanced to Level 3. Cash Giraffe and Cash Cow credited instantly. At this point, I was gaining confidence and feeling like I could finish it out quickly, and that perhaps maybe my "bad luck days" were over. I then did the Whatnot offer, which credited and advanced me to Level 4. I was on top of the world, and envisioned myself earning the $500.00 reward. Up the ladder I went! But boy was I wrong. I never made it past level 5--I barely made it through level 4!
It took a month of Sundays to get my level 4 credits. I burned through so many offers. Most were gaming apps like Rewarded Play and Appstation. You had to download the app and play games within the apps to earn a deal credit. Appstation credited right away, but it was painstakingly difficult to obtain my remaining credits. Below are screenshots of the names of every app I played in order to receive credit.
View post on imgur.comView post on imgur.comNeedless to say, there was no way I was making it past Level 5 if it took that many attempts just to scrape through Level 4. When I finally received the deal credit for Level 4, I did a full-on happy dance. I also decided not to push into Level 5—partly because I knew I didn’t have enough time left to complete it, and partly because it hit me that all the games I’d played for RewardZone USA could have been played elsewhere for a much higher payout. At the moment, I’m working on a game through the Top Surveys phone app (I’ll share my referral link in a bit!) that pays $246.00 for playing a single word game. That’s one word game—not the endless parade of apps you see in those RewardZone screenshots.
Even more frustration sets in. What I sent them below regarding manual credit of my final offer.

Hello Me,
We are following up on the status of your claim. After a review of your account your claim for Up Level Rewards has been disqualified due to violations of our Terms and Conditions https://contact.uplevelrewards.com/policies/terms and/or Acceptable Use Policy https://contact.rewardsclaims.com/policies/page/aup.
The claim will not be fulfilled. You may not participate in our program in a future eligibility period without prior authorization from management.

Prior authorization from management??? This was my response:
Hello,
I previously reached out on September 6th regarding the Bingo Cash offer, and I even stated I had a screenshot proving I reached Level 25. Instead of addressing that, I was suddenly disqualified. This is unacceptable.
I spent both time and money to complete your offers in good faith, and I provided proof of completion. Disqualifying me without properly reviewing my case is unfair and feels like a deliberate attempt to withhold rewards.
If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will have no choice but to escalate and file a formal complaint with the New York Attorney General’s office, as well as other consumer protection agencies. I am requesting a full explanation of my disqualification and immediate reinstatement of my rewards.
Sincerely,
Me

Hello Me,
Upon reviewing your claim, we identified a substantial red flag related to the IP address while participating in the program. VPNs, proxies and similar technology are prohibited as outlined in our Acceptable Use Policy. Your AT&T internet IP is detected as a residential proxy.
Proxy connections are not allowed since they are often used to mask actual locations and can be associated with suspicious or automated behavior.
If you have further insight on this let us know
Thank you,
Up Level Rewards
This is exactly why I did so many offers to try to earn the credit on my own. I feared that by going to them for manual credit, they'd bring up the VPN/proxy issue. This was something they did to me last summer as well when I did their website. I was hesitate to ask them for manaual credit, but wanted to see what would happen if I took the chance. My response to them is below.

Hello Eris,
Thank you for your response. I want to clarify that at no point did I use a VPN, proxy, or any masking software while participating in your program. I was connected through my standard AT&T residential internet service on my phone.
It seems your system has incorrectly flagged my AT&T IP as a “residential proxy.” This is concerning because it unfairly penalizes legitimate participants like myself. I followed all instructions, fully completed the gift program, and complied with your Acceptable Use Policy.
I kindly ask that you review this again and confirm my eligibility. I invested significant time completing this program in good faith under the promise of a $250.00 reward, and I respectfully expect to receive it.
Thank you for your time and understanding.
Sincerely,

Hello Me,
Here's what we'll do please note that your internet connection is still being detected as a residential proxy; not only is this prohibited, but it can break tracking, and we receive no validation, and we can't pass the credit along to you.
We recommend reaching out to your Internet Service Provider (AT&T) to resolve this issue. If your internet is set up through a router you manage, we recommend securing your network. Our system detected that devices previously connected to your network may have been flagged for abuse, which is likely what caused your IP address to be marked as a residential proxy. Taking steps to secure your router, such as updating your admin password and limiting access to trusted devices, can help avoid similar issues in the future.
Thank you!

Hello Eris,
Thank you for your reply. I understand your concerns about how my AT&T connection was detected, but I want to emphasize again that I did not use any VPN, proxy, or masking software. I participated in good faith, fully completed the study, and was promised a $250.00 reward.
I invested significant time completing the program, and I hope this can be reviewed again with that in mind. While I will reach out to AT&T regarding the IP issue, I kindly ask that you escalate my case for further review, since the situation appears to be a misclassification on your system’s side.
Can you please confirm if my reward can still be honored given that I met all the participation requirements?

Hello,
I am following up regarding the Bingo Cash offer I completed and for which I submitted all required screenshots through the app. I have not yet seen the credit applied to my account or received confirmation that it will be manually credited.
With the time window to complete offers quickly narrowing, I kindly request urgent confirmation that my credit can be applied. I have completed all requirements as requested and submitted proof in good faith, so I hope this can be reviewed promptly.
Thank you very much for your attention and assistance.

More time went by without a single response from Eris and the team at RewardZone USA, so I resigned myself to the idea that I’d have to handle this on my own. With that in mind, I completed three more offers—and guess what? When the clock struck midnight, the third one finally did the trick. Ironically, the winning offer was Norton VPN. It still makes me laugh that I had to complete a VPN offer to get deal credit, but hey, it worked! Even then, I wasn’t out of the woods. Hi me,
Your reward claim is approved and moving to fulfillment.
Heads-up: our system detected an anonymous network (e.g., VPN/proxy/private browsing or a shared/work/public Wi-Fi). This can happen unintentionally, but it prevents us from validating location reliably.
What to do next (takes 1–2 minutes):
Turn off VPN/proxy or Private Relay.
If you’re on work/hotel/public Wi-Fi, switch to a home or mobile data connection.
Close private/incognito mode and retry.
If you use security apps that include a VPN, pause them.
If you don’t receive your redemption link within 5–7 business days, reply here and we’ll help.
— Support | Ref: 2276179br> Important: To keep rewards secure and prevent fraud, redemptions must be made from a normal internet connection (not a VPN, Proxy, iCloud Private Relay, or similar).
If our system detects an anonymous or high-risk connection, processing may be delayed while we verify.
Rewards can be revoked if a review confirms that anonymizing technology was used, in line with our eligibility requirements.

Hi Eris,
I did a VPN/proxy test on my IP address this morning, and no VPN or proxy was detected. However, I noticed that the Norton VPN was still running; I thought it was off? The Norton VPN app was actually an Up Level Rewards offer on your web site that I received a deal credit for. I uninstalled it immediately, and performed the VPN/proxy test.
The VPN/proxy test was done on this site: ip.teoh.io
The results were negative. I have copied and pasted the results to this e-mail, as well as attached the screenshots. I also have uploaded them to the Up Level Rewards link I was given about two weeks ago.

Common Questions about our VPN/Proxy Detection
How accurate are the results?
Based on third-party test results, our VPN and Proxy detection tool is about 95% accurate. Like all other VPN and proxy detection tools, there is no guarantee that the information provided is accurate. There may be some false positives, as well as some IPs that have been detected as a proxy and/or VPN by accident. We strive to provide the most accurate information on our detection tool.
How are proxies identified?
Our bots are constantly searching online for public proxies and are adding the public proxies into our databases. Since our bots constantly run every hour, some proxies may not be detected.
Can this private proxies be detected?
Unfortunately no. Our bots can only identify proxies that are public and open to everyone. However, if the proxies are hosted through a datacenter, our VPN detection API will pick up the IP as a VPN/proxy.
How are VPNs detected?
Our VPN detection tool is based on our custom IP Address API, which allows us to detect if the IP address is located from a datacenter or if the IP has been previously know to a threat to users. IP Addresses that are linked back to a server or datacenter or associated with spam/abuse/fraud will be flagged as a VPN.
Our VPN & Proxy Detection API has now arrived.

I'm thinking it was the Norton VPN offer I did that was still on my phone. I will also look at the other steps you listed to ensure no VPN or proxy is running.

I honestly don't know if it was the Norton VPN offer or not. I just thought if I detracted attention from myself by putting the blame on the Norton VPN offer, RewardZone USA would let it go since the Norton VPN trial was one of their offers. Maybe that's what happened? The next day I received this e-mail...

It was my $250.00 Visa gift card! Too bad their sites weren't like they used to be. The offers hardly credit, customer support continuously detechs VPNs and proxies, etc. Below are some reviews from those who experienced the same issue as me. The first review is about the time that I was doing RewardZone USA last year when they started the VPN/proxy issue.

The previous three years have gone…
The previous three years have gone through with no issue. This year when I reported one of my deals did not credit they said it was because I was using a VPN/Proxy/Incognito window. Which is just false. I have none of those set up. (They mentioned no other issues)
I sent a review to the BBB because I feel I was not getting credit that was earned.
The next day I had a long email from their customer support team saying I was permenantly disqualified for multiple reasons (all of which are either false or a grave misrepresentation of the facts)

Offer didn’t credit I provided proof…
Offer didn’t credit I provided proof and they said I used a VPN or proxy. I’ve used GPT sites for years I know the rules no vpns only first time installs etc etc I didn’t use and I don’t have a VPN. I haven’t been paid yet so I can’t say if they pay or not but they will lie and give you a fake reason to not credit. Luckily it was an offer I didn’t spend money on but I would be wary about doing any offers that require payment now.

They scammed me out of 500 dollars
They scammed me out of 500 dollars. Even when I spent money on their deals they lied and said they wouldn’t verify because of my IP address and that I used a VPN (I didn’t) they are despicable liars.
Source: https://www.trustpilot.com/review/rewardzoneusa.com
The fact that I wasn't the only one who had experienced the VPN/proxy issue says a lot. I don't like being told right off that I am disqualified when asking for one just one manual credit. That's after I burned through what seems like a thousand offers just to get the site done. Then I'm told I am disqualified. That didn't sit right with me. I think the only reason they "opened the door" for me to discuss it with them was after I threatened them with the Attorney General. Judging by all the review I'm reading, once disqualified, the door stays shut and there is no reward.
I guess there aren’t any DIY companies left for me to tackle, lmao… No more DealZingo, RewardZone USA, or I-Deal. I just don’t trust doing RewardZone USA again next year — they’d probably accuse me of using a VPN/proxy and claim I’d been doing so in 2024 and 2025, which is far from the truth. And honestly, why would I burn through a bunch of gaming apps when I could earn so much more for the same effort? For example, I could make $250.00 playing a single game on an app like Top Surveys, instead of slogging through a mile-long list of games for the same $250.00 from RewardZone USA.
As for DealZingo, it got tiresome. They accused me of violating a rule for three years in a row. I shouldn't have to threaten a freebie company every time I do one of their sites. It's like they were trying to think up an excuse not to pay me.
I-Deal remains the biggest mystery of all. They blacklisted me for no clear reason, claiming I violated their terms. In all my years of watching them operate, anyone who actually broke I-Deal’s rules never got paid. So if they truly disqualified me for breaking their terms and conditions, why would they pay me? I’ve seen countless disqualified I-Deal members over the years, and none of them ever got paid. I’d really love to know what they thought I had done.

My freebie earnings: $60.00 in PayPal and $10.00 in Amazon from The H&M Collective Community; $1,062.00 in gift cards from Sago; $90.00 in Wal-Mart gift cards from Her Razor Talk; $45.00 Wal-Mart gift card from Fetch Rewards; $265.00 in Amazon.com gift cards from Clearvoice Surveys; $ in PayPal from Earnhaus; from ValuedOpinions; ? from S'mores; from Quickrewards; Verasight; will update soon in checks from Surveysavvy.
I've had a lot of fun though playing gaming apps. I haven't had that much time lately to do them, but I certainly will over the holidays. Top Surveys is a terrific app. You earn points playing games, taking surveys, and signing up for trial offers. Your money usually shows up instantly, but sometimes may take a few days to post to your account depending on the game's advertiser. PayPal and gift card payouts are instantaneous. Customer support is very fast and efficient. Woz approved!
Another app I like is called Shopback. I recently discovered it, and now I'm addicted to it! So far, I've earned $94.82 in the short time that I've had it. The app pays you to shop, take surveys, and play games. They often boost the percentage you can earn with each merchant they advertise. It's just different merchants and on different days.
I'm also getting back $280.00 from Capital One Shopping for purchasing over $350.00 in tickets on Stubhub. Not bad when my total order amount was $473.00! My Capital One Shopping link can also be found below. My referral links for some of my apps:

It also pays to participate in survey sites. Check out this designer Fossil watch I won in The Fashion Influencers Lab's contest!

Additionally, I’ve been earning money throughout the year through class action settlements. Right now, I’m waiting on payments from HP and Ticketmaster. I’m not sure how much I’ll receive from each, but I know the HP settlement checks were scheduled to be disbursed in November. There are several Ticketmaster settlements, and I’m part of the data breach one — I already got paid for the Facebook settlement. It’s worth checking out these settlement sites if you can, so you don’t miss any you might be eligible for. TopClassActions.com is my go-to site, but there are quite a few others if you look around.
Thank you all for reading my blog over the years! Wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday, if you celebrate ππ , and a happy, prosperous, and healthy 2026! π₯³✨π
